The origin of Jasmine grandiflorum was in the Himalayas in India according to the legend and been broght to Spain by Moors in 16s. Jasmine grandiflorum is quite allergic to the outside environment, warm, humid and argillaceous soil. Besides irrigation needs to be moderate, not too much neither too less, they would grow too fast if it's too warm in Spring and fragrance will not come out easily.Soil cultivated with figs, olives and mulberry is not suitable for jasmine as "O-amino-benzoic acid methyl ester" and "indole" are two major aromatic molecules containing nitrogen in Jasmine and the lack of nitrogen in those soil will reduce the fragance of jasmine.
