Description

Lavandula angustifolia officinalis, is a flowering plant, native to the Mediterranean ( Spain, France, Italy, Croatia ect. )

It is a strongly aromatic shrub growing as high as 1 to 2m(3.3 to 6.6 ft) tall. The leaves are evergreen, 2–6cm (0.79–2.36 in) long, and 4–6 mm (0.16–0.24 in) broad.

The flowers are pinkish-purple (lavender-coloured), produced on spikes 2–8cm (0.79–3.15 in) long at the top of slender, leafless stems 10–30cm (3.9–11.8 in) long.

Our Bulgarian Organic Lavender oil by harvesting the lavender flowers from the Organic lavender fields located at the foot of Old mountain and planted with specially selected sorts of traditional Bulgarian lavender.

The lavender harvest usually starts at the beginning of July and continues until the end of the month.

The lavender flowers are picked only on warm and quiet days when the plants contain most oils.

The primary components of Bulgarian Lavender oil are linalool and linalyl acetate. Other components include α-pinene, limonene, 1.8-cineole, cis- and trans-ocimene, 3-octanone, camphor, caryophyllene, terpinen-4-ol and lavendulyl acetate.

Bulgaria now has been a major producer of  Lavender oil.
